Not really getting out of town. More like staying IN town with absolutely no plans other than laying poolside a la Casey Caso, grilling here and a marg there. I find this to be nice because I hate being scheduled on a holiday weekend. Time to kick back and relax.
And that there is a picture of the Cream Cheese Pound Cake I made into the wee hours last night. A nice group of us had actually gone bowling for Miss Nicole's 27th birthday. Upon arriving home at 11pm I soon discovered I had baking POWDER instead of baking SODA! Off to the Albertson's I went and ended up enjoying my late night shopping trip more than I should've. Simply buying one item isn't possible, is it??! Cake completion time was around 1am... HEY!... but check out that bundt pan shape - a tad patriotic, right?! :)

i know i'm late on this, but HOW DELISH!!!! I love it. it looks so yum, definitely worth the late-night run.
oh, and in my early baking days - I asked if I could substitute "regular soda" (like coke, sprite, whatev) for baking soda.
My mom and brother still laugh at me to this day...
