IN EVERYTHING

(pic from Pinterest)

Remember when you go into the world keep your eyes and ears wide open. Be kind. Love one another and take care of each other. Tell the truth. Always do your best. Listen to the big people and the little people. Explore new paths and have fun. Know that you are loved like crazy. Give thanks for all of your blessings. Above all else, love and you will do wonderful things in the world.

My car had a low tire today so I took it into Discount Tire and now am currently spending lunch and part of my workday at Braum’s. Yes, laptop open and fries and salt everywhere… I’m kind of wishing I had now ordered a Cherry Limeade instead of a Diet Coke. Surprise, surprise I’m not a big ice cream fan so none of that… even though the pictures look very tasty.

I remember back in the day, my mom would take me to Mother’s Day Out. After she would pick me up, she would get a Cherry Limeade and/or their amazing waffle fries. I remember back then that Braum’s had the all-time WORST advertising within their stores. One poster that always stood out was this biscuits and gravy ad. It wasn’t actually a photograph either… it looked to be a hand drawing that had grey specks dotted in to show (I guess) that the gravy was thick. And then, of course, it was resting on two humps of so-called biscuits. It looked all together gross.

So now, while I’m sitting here, taking in the Braum’s scene, I’ve noticed that their advertising has, in fact, improved! If I were into eating ice-cream I think I would definitely get some from here as the Hot Fudge Sundae picture to my left is looking a lot tastier than the Double Dip Ice Cream Cone picture… oh wait, dang… the ad for the Black Forest Sundae looks pretty amazing… that is, if I liked ice cream.

One of my friends on Twitter recently posted, “today, what are you thankful for”. I’ll use this time now to answer that question.

Today I’m thankful for people that work in jobs that I could never do and do them with a great work ethic. I’ve witnessed this at both Discount Tire and Braums just now. Two very different industries but what is similar are the people that are friendly and willing to do their job with pride. I’m thankful to see this because it makes me want to work harder at what I do. Pretty much everyone has to have a job and whatever industry that happens to be in it’s so encouraging to see people working hard at what they do.

"Rejoice always,
pray without ceasing,
in everything give thanks;
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
