30 DAYS/DAY 8

DAY 8- short term goals for this month and why

[picture: Nadav Dov Boretzki]

-- Finish reading Eat, Pray, Love. Eeks! I know. I never finished like I had originally set out to do so long ago! The book just slowed down for me... especially in India. I got stuck in that meditation cave for way too long. However, I am now in Indonesia and am hoping to finish by the end of the month.

-- Sign up for the White Rock Half or Relay. I've always wanted to do this and I do believe that this year is the year. Better get a move on since sign-ups is 60% full already!

-- Cook two meals a week and eat the leftovers on the other days. If I have a plan what two meals I'll make for the week, then a) I'll be eating healthier because I'll know what ingredients are being used in what and b) Will be saving money, which is always a good thing. This began last week when I made some sorta ziti sensation thing and then a mexican casserole. Psssss... I'm starting the "healthy" part this week.

-- Save money. I have some people I need to pay and would love to have more going into my savings.

-- Attend only 1 HH per week. The restaurant that killed this for me is Campisis. This place is within walking distance from my building, has $2.50 drinks and my downtown friends and I tend to meet up there during the week to chat and catch up. The original plan was to only meet up on Friday's but then some people ended up starting early... "Tuesday is the new Friday". Yeah right, ha. I'm making it a point to only meet up on Fridays and that's that.

-- Paint a chalkboard wall. For real. I've been wanting to do this eversince I moved into my new place. I know the perfect wall too. And on that note, a little Ikea would help things out too. My place is put together but there's still so much more that can be done!

-- Get started on opening my own Etsy shop or at least creating the items that will be sold in it. Sighs. I've been wanting to do this since the birth of Etsy way back when. I've had a lack of motivation, which is crazy... who wouldn't want to see their own art being sold and shipped to places all around the nation/world? As a college student, I sold my art and card designs to gift stores around Abilene to make extra cash. I have got to get this going again... badly. Any encouragement is much appreciated.

-- Drop off that old TV set to Genesis Women's Shelter. Anyone need a TV? It's one of those big fat ones... I mean, not flat screened. It's a great TV... I just don't need it and it's been sitting in my hallway eversince I moved in. Big time eyesore. It's gotta go.

Ooo! I'm SOOOO looking forward to you starting an etsy site! I LOVE all of your designs and would VERY MUCH be interested in buying!!

I have never read Eat Pray Love ... but I don't think that it'd be that interesting. I guess it's just not my cup of tea :) I hope that you end up enjoying it though!
