Notta much going on these days.
I feel as if my posts used to be so much more interesting.
Maybe there was more to talk about or write about?
I'm not sure.
Hmm.
BUT WAIT!
When I moved into the little one-bedroom, my Daddio sure did buy me some Pepperspray and it's for reasons like this.
Last week my dearest most beloved friend, Nicole came and surprised the heck out of me. She was in from NY and had contacted my other dear friend, Brent to make sure I would be home so she could surprise me.
Yes, I was home.
Yes, she surprised me.
Yes! she actually scared the heebie jeebies outta me.
I was home from a run so Tator Tot and I were having a little play action when I heard the creepiest, quietest knocking on my door. Now, being a single female living in downtown Dallas.. you just don't go opening doors for anyone, unless it's the Rocco's delivery man.
That said, I slowly peered through the peephole expecting to see hopefully someone I knew... but there was no one! This creeped me out all the more as the steady knocking continued. Every single scary movie of people looking through peepholes with bad guys on the other side started flashing through my mind. This was it. I was going to have to unleash the pepperspray.
As my heart pounded, Tot thought it'd be genius to scratch at the door as if to say, "Yes, stranger-person... please come in, Christin is right here!" Dumb Tator... dumb, dumb dog, you're supposed to g-u-a-r-d me... not give my presence away!
And then... the phone rang.
Instantly, my mind took me back to Scream I.
Casey: Hello?
Phone Voice: Hello.
Casey: Yes?
Phone Voice: Who is this?
Casey: Who are you trying to reach?
Phone Voice: What number is this?
Casey: Well, what number are you trying to reach?
Phone Voice: I don't know.
Casey: I think you have the wrong number.
Phone Voice: Do I?
So I was really scared by this point... HOWEVER! Lo and behold, it was the sweet voice of little Miss Nicole on the other line wondering if I was home.
"OF COURSE I"M HOME!" I said... and then in a whisper, "there's somebody creepily knocking on my front door"... and then she said, "I know..." continued by, "... it's ME!"
Aaaaand that's how my dearest beloved friend surprised AND scared me.
The end!
I absolutely love her though. We had a great time catching up that night over wine and work I was doing, all in the meantime playing our own little trick on our friend Brent. Memories were for SURE made that night as we through him for a loop. Poor mister didn't know what two he was tangoing with (he can tell you that story). :)

But yes, Nicole and I had our fair share of fun while she was in town, hitting up Corner Bar for some horrible karaoke and also Joyce later on in the week for her brother (also a good friend), David's birthday.
For sure it was absolutely great to have her back in town... even if it was for just a bit. Love her, miss her - xo.

You should be ashamed of yourself. Both of you.
