BRINGS A SMILE

Last night, Casey girl and I treated ourselves to two of our most favorite things. After work, we patio dined at BlackFriar on McKinny St... where the salsa is (we think) the best in all D-town. To counter the chips, salsa and happy hour brew... we also ordered salads for din... chopped for moi, ceaser for Casey. Delish!

Next up... Thursday Night Jazz Nights at the Dallas Museum of Art. I've never seen as many people as there were last night! A live jazz band was set up on a stage on the green lawn... FYI: the DMA has the BEST fluffy grass and completely reminds me of the grassy knolls in Dr. Seuss books (specifically think The Lorax).

As the band was gearing up to play Casey and I decided to take a walk through the museum. We immediately got stuck at the Materials & Meanings exhibit where the art focuses on the materials of which it is made along with the meanings associated with those materials to both the artist and to the viewer.

Couldn't have found ourselves more intrigued! Check out a video from the exhibit here and you'll realize what I'm talking about. Here's a few pictures which include... Magnet words to spell phrases (reminds me of my fridge!), a corrugate (otherwise known as cardboard) chair, light sculpture made of drinking straws, a green clip sculpture... and then we played! Casey's creation was titled, "Combustion" and I made a fire breathing dragon. Later we enjoyed the jazz band amongst the many people on the lawn and even took in some fine dancing!

SIGNED: SUCH A FUN NIGHT, FULL OF LAUGHTER AND SMILES!
