Eversince moving into the city, I swear by the Market. There's absolutely no point in going to the grocery store to spend too much $$ on shriveled up, small fruits and veggies. The Farmer's Market provides more for your money, better/fresher product, AND you feel like you're contributing directly to the family that grew the produce. Love it! As I'm typing, I'm trying not get the keys sticky because of the sumptuous grapefruit I'm savoring. Grapefruit became my favorite fruit this past fall/winter after my summer of mango. I don't know why... other than I simply started eating the grapefruit in a different way. All my life I had cut the fruit in half, then dug out the pieces with one of those sporky, spoon things. So one day I was divinly inspired to PEEL the fruit, yes.. like an orange, and eat it in SLICES (imagine that). So now, the grapefruit takes top rank over all others - it's a GREAT fruit (ahhh).
Other things that are making this day even all the more sweet...
The Samba Machine song by Kassin+2. For those of you "up" on your music scene - it's currently the Song of the Day on KEXP. When I heard it, I immediately wanted to take the warp zone to an exotic island where tan men would be playing bongos and women with long skirts would be dancing freely. A Wednesday escape... how nice. And then, if you continue listening... the song reroutes into more of a Napolean Dynamite pulling Kip into town feel. You feel me on this, right? Okay... moving on.
MISTER ROB RYAN!! His art is a current favorite of mine.

Check more out here... but this piece is just splendid. Be sure to click to enlarge the piece and read the art - I adore the wording. And some more words for your day...
Those who face that which is actually before them, unburdened by the past, undistracted by the future, these are they who live, who make the best use of their lives... -Alban Goodier
