Happy Friday! Hope everyone is having a good one. This post will be dedicated to TWO more of my Top 10 Favorite Music Videos... had to mix it up with a dirty and a clean... so here we go!
Juvenile "Back That A$$ Up" - Everything in this video bounces or jiggles... literally. Sigh... if only white girls were born with apple bottoms, we TOO could be featured in Juvenile's video.
When this song came out... of course it was blowing up. As it was, I went to a Christian university in which MTV was banned from dorm television. For some reason or another BET was not. Not being able to watch MTV for two straight years in the dorm seemed like torture. We constantly complained that the only music videos we could watch were on CMT and VH1 (either all country or all outdated, we weren't having it). And then... we discovered BET (ahhhh).
What did BET have to offer us MTV-deprived college students? But of course!... Juvenile's "Back That A$$ Up" video. Suddenly we were appauled that our good little Christian university would allow us to watch such videos and not even good 'ol TRL!
In conclusion, this video is delicious... that is, if you like big, apple-bottom ba-donks swerving all over the place. Nothing that these girls wear stays in place, nor would it even if they had the kind of support in which they so desperately need to stop the jiggle! Nonetheless, I'm mesmerized!
Mariah Carey "All I Want For Christmas Is You" - Back in Mariah Carey's "golden days" she put out quite an amazing Christmas album which included this song.
The video is quite delightful as it reminds me of an old home movie. A young and fresh Mariah plays in a winter wonderland with Santa (who probably is some hot guy underneath the beard... he would be in my video at least!) while wearing a cute little red ski suit.
Later she opens some presents... don't ask me why she gets a pair of bunnies... this is not Easter folks. As the video goes on, its more snow... more Santa, and more fun and frolicking. This video just makes me want to be with my family and get cozied up in some blankets around the fireplace with a warm cup of cider.

Oh man, Juvenile's Back that @$$ Up hit our little town hard! I think that everyone in our town knows the words to that song.
As for Mariah ... one of my favorite Christmas songs .. for sure!!
RYC: I haven't changed my name at my university yet ... but unfortunately it wouldn't have done much better. They started in the MIDDLE of the alphabet, then the front, then the back ... and so "A" would have been at 8:30 instead of 9:30 ... so it wasn't much difference at all ;-/
Oh yes! Back that a$$ up reminds me of the good ole Ferguson days! When we would download songs with Napster! HA!
