THE ONGOING HEEL-HELL PAIN.

DAY TWO of the on-going heel pain. Whoops!... Almost typed HELL pain - which would make sense... this pain apparently feels like it's coming from somewhere else!

DAY TWO diagnosis - I went to FootPhysicans.com and typed in heel pain, which brought up Plantar Fasciltis. Plantar Fasciitis is an inflammation of the band of tissue (the plantar fascia) that extends from the heel to the toes. In this condition, the fascia first becomes irritated and then inflamed-resulting in heel pain.

Okay, this sounds just about right.
- Pain on the bottom of the heel... check!
- Pain that is usually worse upon arising... check!
- Pain that increases over a period of months... err, let's hope not!

People with plantar fasciitis often describe the pain as worse when they get up in the morning or after they've been sitting for long periods of time. After a few minutes of walking the pain decreases, because walking stretches the fascia.

Things for me to do: stretch, avoid going barefoot (okay, heels are still allowed... whew!), ice, shoe modifications (ahhh, no heels!?!), and medications (methinks the leftover vicodin from the knee surgery probably might be too strong!). In honor or my poor foot... I drew a little dilly - enjoy!

SIGNED: WEATHER IS B-EAUTIFUL!
