I knew this was going to happen… I shouldn’t have run the Katy Trail last night – but did. It was too nice of an evening not to go for a jog even though I knew my left heel had been sore for quite some time… push through the pain, mental toughness, right?
Wrong. Last night my heel was throbbing… this morning I could barely stand on it. Honestly, I was thinking I needed to whip out the boot or crutches again!
$15,000 and a knee surgery later, this is what I get. True, the surgery DID repair what it needed to… but now the fact that I’m overcompensating on the good leg is turning it into the bad thing AND a bad leg!
So I've decided to self diagnose my heel and say that I have Excessive Pronation. This is my first diagnosis and it may be wrong but we'll go with it for now.
Excessive Prnation is an excessive inward motion that creates abnormal amounts of stretching and pulling on the ligaments and tendons attaching to the bottom back of the heel bone. Excessive pronation is also a contributing factor with injury to the lower back, knee, and hip.
Hmm, is this the right diagnosis? IDK! AND I guess it wouldn't help that much either that I wear heels pretty much every day to work! Oh well, oh well... just get me back to running normal and I'll be fine... even if that means sacrificing the heels and wearing Aerosoles or whatever those granny shoes are that are sem-stylish.
On with the day, on with the heel pain... I need some lunch.
