SO FAR, SO GOOD!

(pic from Pinterest)

On the 6th day of my thirties, I wrote this blog for you...

Have to say they're going well. Well, actually I'm feeling the aches and pains of it all... or maybe that was just from running White Rock yesterday and not stretching afterwards. Anyways, I feel like a big OUCH. It's okay though, I'm still functioning soreness, bad kness and all. Oh how the winter coldness creates pain in my bummer right knee. Speaking of bummer knees and well, how I got to have a bummer knee... soccer!

Over the weekend my college team I played for, Hardin-Simmons competed in the NCAA Final Four and won! First national championship ever! Here's a recap from the game --> http://www.ncaa.com/allaccess/?media=215721

We have always won conference after conference, gotten to the Sweet Sixteen, Elite Eight but never Final Four. This year, they did it and even better... they took down the 2 time defending champion, Messiah College and ended their "historic streak". Going into the game, Messiah had won its last 76 games! Quite incredible... even more incredible, their seniors career record was 96-2-3. They only lost 2 games in their whole career and those were both for national championships. Crazy! (article about it all here)

Hardin-Simmons won 2-1 and both their goals came from corner kicks and both in the first 6 minutes of the game! More about the game from the HSU website here. I'm so proud of this team and to be an alumni. One of the teams traditions is to "Steam it up"... a pre-game chant- so after the win, all the alumni and current team gathered around the trophy and steamed it up. It was such a great moment! Somewhere I'm going to post the video but here's a picture and then a few more.
