WRITE ME UP

For a while now...
I've been wanting to paint a chalkboard wall but haven't had the time to actually DO it. Also, I'd like to admit, that I'm a little scared of painting walls. For reals. And especially chalkboard walls. I mean, what if it doesn't work?! For a few weeks I researched the topic and finally... finally, I did it. I painted my chalkboard wall. Have to say, I think I'm going to love it.

It begins...
Last Saturday I stopped by Lowes and picked up some Valspar Chalkboard paint, a roller and two sponge brushes (for the edges), locked Tator Tot up, set some jams and got to work. Here's the progression over three days and three coats total.

(blank wall in bedroom- perfect place to write to do lists, draw pictures, reminders, quotes/inspirations)

(Valspar Chalkboard paint - $13.99 @ Lowes)

(application: the scary part, oh my!)

(three coats later)

(first writing on the wall- testing, testing, one, two... btw, this was also a very scary part)

(had to draw Potato Tot!)

(TA-DAH! it works... success!)

Love it! I've been wanting to do a chalk board paint project for some time now too. I've got an old coffee table I plan on painting for Will so he can do chalk during the winter. I really love your whole wall though! Will just draws on our walls with crayon we don't need the chalkboard.
