TWITTER-POSAL

My friends and I tend to share links with eachother during the day of work. Today, the wonderful Billy D. revealed this video... which, in fact, reveals a little more if you watch the whole thing. Go!

Yes, you got it. A wedding proposal! The following video popped up on YouTube an hour after the request was Tweeted... also stated in the article on Mashable, which covered the story.

"A fan named Johannes S. Beals tweeted, “Can U Ask my girlfriend to marry me? Her name is Angela A. Hutt-Chamberlin” to Old Spice.

Ooooooh goodness, the wonders of social media! Now for my question: Do you think this is creative/clever of the (now) fiance' OR do you think he should have proposed in person? (keeping in mind, the guy who tweeted this request most likely does not look like Mr. Old Spice man here).

Whether Twitter-fiance man has looks or not, the proposal scenario stirs up thoughts related to how introverted our society is... I'll say, shrinking (not growing). More texting and less conversations... people going about relationships with no substantial conversation and no real form of true conversation. Was this man truly an avant-garde, social media savvy boyfriend or was he simply lacking the confidence (geek and all) to propose in person?

My thoughts: Step up to the plate dude... what's there to hide? Doesn't your woman want to see your delighted face smile and ask those four, will-you-marry-me, words in person?

I have to agree with some of y'all reading this... that Old Spice man is looking good and IS truly funny, "I'd be honored to honorably honor your honorable request" but come on... I DO hope Johannes S. Beal is just being savvy... (maybe he even hinted he wanted candelabras moved in at the opportune time??)

And IF SO, I crown him with the "Social Media Savvy KING Award! Congrats Angela A. Hutt-Chamberlin... you got your prince!
