THIS TO THE THAT

Lo and behold, I have noticed that I have not written in a while... booooring. All this and that have been consumed by my sister getting married (see MAY 22nd) and a trial for work. It's been rather a whirlwind since I moved in to my new place but finally, yes finally, things are starting to get a little more organized and in a supposed "place", at least for the time being. Nada much is on the walls (I need to locate a drill!) but I did get the curtains up this week so that the Neiman Marcus peeps wouldn't be able to check me out.

Sometimes living downtown is like "The Rear Window". At night, lights are on and windows are up. I tend to sit in my windowsill and watch people cross from one side of their apartment to the other doing stuff, putting things away, talking to their significant other or even just eating dinner.... it's very entertaining. I will make up stories about what they're doing and where they're getting ready to go and then I think... holy geez, I bet someone's watching me as I'm watching those people! Eek.... so then, I stop.

A few things coming up that I'm really excited about. We'll start with tonight.

Jazz Under the Stars - May 20th
The DMA puts on live music on their lawn every Thursday during the summa-time... it's just one of those things I absolutely LOVE going to. To me, its as if the city is unwinding. In past years while taking it all in, I've thought... this is the way things should be... outdoors, great music, good food, dancing, laughter, friends and family, a relaxed atmosphere. There's something about these nights that breathe life back into the city.... it's such a great vibe. Please say you'll come! Starts at 8pm. See you there! (website linkage here)

Wedding - May 22nd
LIttle sister is getting married and the date is finally here! I absolutely can not believe that this is happening. Well, I can... but I can't because she's my baby sister.... she's not supposed to be all grown-up yet! She is going to be the most beautiful bride ever. Rehearsal dinner is tomorrow night at Maggiano's and then an evening wedding planned for 6pm at our hometown church in Coppell. Reception will be at La Cima Club in Las Colinas and then her and her main man are off to a Mediterranean Cruise. (website linkage here)

Homegrown Festival - May 22nd
14 bands, downtown in Main Street Garden... an all day event. If you can, you should definitely attend this. $10 gets you in and I'm absolutely positive its going to be an amazing time. Wishing I could do but you know, sister's and weddings pull rank on this one. (website linkage here)
