1. have an big-time, extreme craving to read a book... it's been quite a while since I read a good book. time to hit up Half-Priced Books... the big one, off NWest Hwy... that place is really greatbigo.
2. chocolate wafers. no, not Little Debbies Nutty Bars. CHOCO WAFERS. whenever i eat these things im reminded of summer nights as a kid camping with my family in our ol' pop-up camper. i think the only times i actually ate these WERE camping... nowhere else... until, of course, now. for some reason camping was the only time my mom bought these wafer treats... so when eaten, i'm immediately brought back to Lake Texoma or Tyler State Park. mm, yes i luv them.
3. it's nice to enjoy what you do for a living. i really love my job... the slow times and the really amped up/speedy times. even though there are weeks when things seem to get a little out of order with life because work takes over, im okay with that... just need to find balance when its unbalanced.
4. burritos for lunch. my dear casey friend bought them and left them as a surprise in my fridge... what a great friend! and where are the best burritos? breakfast ones?? hmm, we would agree that you can find them at the hole-in-the-wall mexican restaurant at the farmer's market. not quite sure what the name of this awesome restaurant is but it is very tasty AND they welcome diggity dogs on the patio... RUFF.
5. taqueria is a really hard word for me to say... is it tacky-era? ta-quera? ta-quer-ia?? someone, please clarify the nonsense.
6. songs that have been giving me a GO in the morning... all by jay-z. thank you lord for creating such a talent! numero one = "empire state of mind" because literally i can listen to it over and over again... and again and again. numero two = "forever young" because it reminds me of "back in the day", adding in the coolness of the last scene in napolean dynamite and then if you can ever, EVER throw jay-z into a song and kinda make it a remix, it pretty much makes a hit. both songs make my body want to move but in completely different dance styles. and where is the best place to dance to remixed songs... think somewhere ghetto and somewhere adjoined to a Safe-Way... there you go! you got it... straight up, slipp in... YEP. (another good hit but not one i wake up to "lost one", look it up)
7. Etsy Dallas Spring Bash is this Saturday. Be there. Southside at Lamar 11am-6pm.
8. good lyrics to this song, There Is Nothing by Laura Story... "may I gaze deeper, may I stay longer, may i press onward to know you Lord"
9. another event thats bound to be HUGE and right in my backyard... Main Street Gardens, May 22nd, HOMEGROWN MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL. $10 for bands such as: jonathon tyler and the northern lights, they were stars, somebody's darling, air review and grant jones and the pistol grip lassos.
10. "But is it such a bad thing to live like this for just a little while? Just for a few months of one's life, is it so awful to...nap in a garden, in a patch of sunlight, in the middle of the day, right next to your favorite fountain? And then to do it again the next day?" -elizabeth gilbert from Eat, Pray, Love
