Friday: Went to see Cossi Fan Tutte at the Winspear Opera House. For some reason, this was really one of my least favorite operas I've ever seen. Many reasons: silly plot line that was dramatic yet, in my mind, ridiculous, small cast, small set and no particular singer stood out to me. Good things: acting was wonderful, great scene changes during the acts to manipulate the set, and always always always the orchestra, especially this time around the harpsichord. I took my friend Aaron and even though he said he enjoyed it, I honestly wish he could have seen a different opera. This Friday is Don Pasquale so I'm crossing my fingers that it will be a much better than Cossi.
Saturday: Made a return to Cornerstone Kids in East Dallas to do crafts. Carrie came along and then afterwards we ran it, ran it on the Katy Trail and then I killed myself doing stairs for 15 minutes. Good and bad idea because then went to help Casey Caso move outta her little one-bedroom... good thing we had the help of 5 strong men plus one mama.
A year ago when Casey moved into her little one-bedroom she was greeted by an amazing sunset... Saturday when we moved her out there also was a beautiful sunset. Sunsets or sunrises just make me think that its Gods way of opening our eyes to take in His beauty for that moment when we're so caught up in what we have to get down or where we have to go. It's good to slow down and take these things in.Saturday night was game night with the fam. Brother and his fam were in town and so was sisterrrrr and Collin. Mom made roast beef, potatoes, green beans and rolls... such a great meal. Afterwards Matt busted out his poker table and we spent the rest of the night playing Texas Hold 'Em until Mom beat everyone.
Sunday: Hit up the morning service at the Village with sisterrr and Colin, then devoured some crepes at Cafe Brazil. Afterwards the whole fam came to see my new place at the Merc. One month till move in makes me think I should already begin the packing process. Those muscle men that helped Casey move thought she had a lotta stuff... hmm, I'm sure they don't even want to see my place. Trashing a lot of stuff and hiring movers is the plan of action. So really, when do I officially want to start this process?! Ughhhhh...Took Tator Tot to White Rock dog park to run her little legs out... saw a poodle with pink hair and tail and then another dog rocking a tutu... Tot could never rock a tutu... nor would I even attempt trying to make her.
Hit up Gui that night and ate waaaaay to many sushi rolls as usual. Erika said she had a food baby.... I did too, but afterwards still went to Pinkberry before seeing Valentine's Day.~'twas a busy but wonderfully beautiful weekend
