This weekend just so happens to be the ASC Soccer Conference Tourny at Hardin-Simmons. Sister Lindsay is quite the little socerballer, so escaping the city to go to the town where Subway hires grandmas to make your sandwich was fine by me.
Today HSU won their game against UT Tyler 2-0... up next, UTD -headgear team... RAR!
So it was extremely early this morning (WAY too early for a Saturday) that the mom and pops, Maggalicious and myself journeyed westbound I20. But FIRST our trek began with a quick donut detour to devour some tasty glazed goodness.
OMG donuts!! I heart them. I actually just heart reading the word 'donut'. That word itself just sounds tasty and believe me, the place we went to did not disappoint. Kountry Donuts was the name and gigantor were the donuts. And yes, that's country... kountry with a "k".
Onward! From there it was full blown early in the a.m. coffee discussion covering life, politics, books, family, jobs, God aaaaaand before I even had time to lick all the glaze from my fingers... BAM!... we were there... Abilene Texas. Yeehaw y'all. Barbeque, boots, cultural pursuits. It's pure country... kountry with a "k".
So now I sit here with freezing cold toes, wrapped in an old baby blue, fuzzed-out hotel blanket. Hello germs! Only my face and fingers are peeking out and all I can think of is how cold I am and who else has tortilla-wrapped themself up in this blanket before me. Not a good thought.
Lets end on a better thought. Tonight (and pretty soon at that) sister Lindso has taken it upon herself to cook the fam up a little dinner at her casa. So nice of her... she is truly a great sisterrrr.
SIGNED: PLEASE PRAY THAT ITS NOT RAMEN...
DOUBLE SIGNED: AND IF IT IS, IT BEST BE CHICKEN FLAVORED.
AND ON WITH MORE OF MY THOUGHTS: Life is so strange and indescribable really, the things that happen to people, the different pathways, the way that the consequences of such small decisions can change so much. And how there are so so many different people’s lives and stories out there all completely different.
Thank you for bringing me a good life. I won’t say that it’s perfect and right now I’m finding it tough but I like to think that there’s such a thing as fate and that we’re all here and everything happens for a reason. I know that things will improve and all you can do is look ahead. I think if anything I’m writing this just to clear my head and say thank you rather than to ask anything of you. (from Dear God)
