Friday we left the doormat,
And drove to Lubbock in a cowboy hat.
There wasn’t much to look at,
Since Texas is all dry and flat.
Saw some vultures pecking at,
Roadkill, maybe a muskrat.
Black rat, blue cat, brown bat,
Anything to gnaw at.
On with the flat!
We heard a split and a splat.
Too many to pick at,
The windshield covered in gnat,
And after that…
We ate Twizzlers, nonfat,
Listened to music, sang flat.
And saw a stickered minivan to laugh at.
Upon arrival after the flat,
Hung out with family to chit and to chat.
We toasted John and Kristi knowing that,
Marriage is something two have to work at.
After this it was on to that,
Exciting scenery to look at!
Wood rat, red bat, fungus gnat,
And of course, more of flat.
